(Recommended) Multicarrier Techniques for 4G Mobile Communications, Shinksuke Hara and Ramjee Prasad, 2003, Artec House, ISBN: 1-58053-482-1
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Multi-carrier communications (MCM) has been chosen as the physical layer of important communication technologies, including the three important and diverse applications in WiFi, WiMax, ADSL. Therefore, it has great relevance to practicing and graduating wireless and wired communications and networking engineers. The goal of this course is to learn MCM, synchronization, channel estimation, diversity and coding exploiting the structure of MCM. The course will start with a review of digital communications, introduce multicarrier communications, including latest technology, eg. OFDM-CDMA and space time/frequency coded OFDM systems, as well as systems in development such as Ultra Wideband and WiMAX.
