Weekly Status:

This past week the project team has focused on further research into the field of Digital Image Technology. All team members have been focused on gathering information on Mpeg 1 and Mpeg 2 file coding, and how we can extract time reference information from the video stream off of the live camera recording. This is proving to be a more difficult problem than was originally planned.

The team has met together multiple times to brainstorm the best possible methods that can be used which will give us the desired information, hopefully with less difficulty than we are currently experiencing. We have met with our project advisor, Prof Man to gather his input on Mpeg filing coding, and the use of codecs to extract the needed information from the streaming digital video packet headers. Further meetings are scheduled with our Project Advisor again this week to go over this problem in more detail, and try to find better alternatives so that we may proceed with the other aspects of our project and move past this current technical issue as fast as possible so that we can get back on schedule. We are currently one week behind our intended goal; this is due specifically to the obstacle described above which we are trying to work through and find alternate solutions for so as to now hold up our projects progress and to meet our intended deadlines.
