 Weekly Status:

Our group is slightly behind schedule, we are now awaiting the arrival of purchased hardware which will allow the group to test our proposed design solution for the extraction of streaming video and header information from the digital camera to the laptop. Because we must wait till we have this hardware to do anymore of the design work, this week our group focused on the less technical aspects of our project.

This week we began studying the rules and actual game play of a volleyball match, and the different rules that are used in the game depending on what rule set is being used.   There are a few variations of the rules in that are used in volleyball that are mostly dependent upon the league and division a team is playing in. Our group feels that in order to have an effective product we need to make our software versatile enough that it can handle all of the different rule sets and have options for all game play situations.  We need to gather this information in order to know what statistics need to be recorded during a volleyball game, and also do design the software part of our product.

Also this week a large amount of time was devoted to 421-Eng Economics.  Our group had to create a detailed business plan outlining our intended customer base, intended product line and services that are to be offered, pricing issues, and overall financials for our project.  Our group had to do research about and analysis, and make decisions about who we want to sell our products to and how we want to handle pricing issues.

Our groups website is for the most part complete and will continuously be updated and revised to make improvements and provide a large array of information to its visitors about our design project and group progress.
