Weekly Status:
This week our team has continued the implementation
phase of our ITS-Image Tracking System, software application. Our group is continuing to work on learning
how to program in visual basic, how to utilize a custom developed media player
via visual basic scripting, and how to incorporate a MS Access database with a
Visual Basic Program. We are still
working on completing a prototype application,
specifically we are working on the main application module which is the ITS
program.
Our group has made a great deal of progress this week
with the main ITS program. We have had
many problems coding with the 2000 and XP versions of MS Access. For this reason we have decided to utilize
the compatible MS Access 97 version of the office program for our
application. We were also having
difficulty in associating and creating databases that were specific to each
new-recorded image set/video. This week
we have had success in hard-coding the database into the main application that
has resolved all issues with the application database. The media player has now been fully
customized to meet the needs of our project, and we are currently working on
the sorting/querying playback function.
