Weekly Status:

This week our team has continued the implementation phase of ITS-Image Tracking System, software application.   Our group is continuing to work on learning how to program in visual basic, how to utilize commercial or shareware media players via visual basic scripting, and how to incorporate a MS Access database with a Visual Basic Program.   We are beginning to program and implement a visual basic application using keystroke-programming techniques that should simplify the user interface of our final software package.  We are making some progress with this programming environment and methodology, and in our initial attempts we have been fairly successful.

Since we have encountered difficulty do to compatibility issues with camera hardware and the laptop, we have decided to take an alternate approach in dealing with time reference information. Instead of our original design plan to extract this information directly from the media stream coming from the video camera, we have decided to utilize an internal counter in visual basic which will take the place of this information, and provide us with the necessary reference frame for video playback and statistical data recording.  We believe that using this design scheme we will have a greater chance at success.
