last week sandra sent out source code targeted for insertion into the sin library. the code was two functions for polynomial interpolation of sin with natural splines in separate intervals. she had also included a pdf document illustrating the derivation of the weights of the basis functions for calculation of the interpolations as well as the constraints of the interpolating polynomial she introduced. after some cursory peer review by aiyana and noel, it was deemed that for generalization in the release version of the sin library, additional functions were needed to emulate a drop in replacement for the standard library sin. code was needed to map the standard library input domain (all rationals representable as doubles) to the function's input domain (pi/2 - 5*pi/2). the nonintuitive input domain arised from the derivation of the weights. completion of the sin library has been pushed back a week again, now a month past deadline.

noel worked on the now overdue interim status report. he completed 80% of it on wednesday and sent it out to the group to complete and send. juan worked on the project management section, added the final gantt chart and sent it to aiyana for the final update. aiyana was slated to update the performance analysis of the completed sin functions (taylor+metasin+LUT), but is not currently known at this time whether she sent the updated report to professor kiss/mcnair/bae.

noel contacted joseph frisina of bae systems. the last contact had been in early december, which consisted of unanswered emails sent by the senior design group. they are awaiting the interim status report.
