The objective of this project will be to develop a means of communication between a business and a customer via a portal on the web or text messaging/web through a cellular phone. Essentially the user will use the portal or send out a text message describing criteria for an order (i.e. price, delivery time, etc.) to a central database. The database will query out to different businesses around a specific location to seek an optimal match for that criteria. Alternately, the query can be sent out to all businesses within a certain range to check for matches. Once a match or several matches have been found, there is the possibility of allowing the user to choose a particular business and place an order via text messaging over the cell phone.

Overall, this project will entail the exploration of issues such as wireless communications and database development. Its goal would be to essentially remove the guesswork and legwork of finding a specific product/business to best match a customer’s needs.
