GenBlu was created as a Senior Design Project at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. This site outlines the progress which the group is making in revolutionzing the way in which people shop.
The basic idea of the GenBlu project is to allow a Bluetooth enabled cell phone user to send and recieve information while shopping in a store. This information can be anything from coupons which are sent to the user through access points placed throught the store. The information can also be more sensitive such as credit card numbers. Imagine being able to pay for a purchase by merely showing a valid ID and entering a PIN number at the register. This is what GenBlu wishes to accomplish with the use of Bluetooth.
