Include discussion of what you accomplished this week, who you contacted, what decisions were made, what obstacles were identified, how they are being addressed.
In the past week, we have had many group discussions and made quite a number of decisions.
· We had two meetings with Tureli. One meeting was to be introduced to his lab (all hardware that will be of importance to our project), his equipment, and all that he can offer us as our advisor. The second meeting was more focused on Aloha and the steps we should begin taking in understanding this protocol.
· Prof. Tureli suggested that the first steps are to research Aloha, understand it, and make an attempt at creating a simulation of Aloha either in Matlab or in C++. So, most of this week has been dedicated to research on Aloha, understanding of Aloha, and research on simulations of both pure and slotted Aloha. Instead of handing the simulation task to just one team member, each member is going to see if they can do it. One team member, in fact, wants to attempt using Simulink to simulate Aloha.
· In addition to this, the group also discussed the Senior Design Website. We began talking about the layout of the website and what information/documents we want to include in it.
· The team also decided that we want to look into an NYU proposal so that we can possibly receive extra assistance for our project. One team member spoke with Prof. Slater in the Physics department and he agreed to be our advisor for NYU. We still have to look further into all requirements for the NYU proposal so that we can adequately prepare for a presentation.
