Include discussion of
what you accomplished this week, who you contacted, what decisions were
made, what obstacles were identified, how they are being addressed. ·
This week the matlab code
was ready. We looked over it briefly with
Nilay to make sure that it was running. We
took data for a few seconds and saw that we were getting the correct
PSD graphs and measurement graphs for a Cingular GSM signal between 874
MHz and 879 MHz. ·
Since it was just a
set-up meeting we only collected data for the Cellular bands with COM
block 3005. In the future, when we want to
look at the PCS bands we will be using COM block 3006.
We will be taking data for minutes at a time in different
locations. Initially, we’re going to
start in the Wireless Research Laboratory. ·
Nilay also made a
suggestion that we create a front-end interface using a simple program
like Visual Basic. This way, when we can
type our desired frequency range into the prompt instead of going
through the matlab code to change it. ·
Next week, hopefully
Tuesday, we will be starting our first official round of data. We chose to start next week so that we could
use the remainder of this week to familiarize ourselves with the code
provided to us by WinSec. ·
We won’t be saving
all of the data so an external drive will be sufficient to store our
data. We don’t think there will be
any need to purchase a DVD burner. ·
We also talked briefly
about the interim report, when it’s due, and what we plan to
include in it. Also, the website has been
updated with a lot more links that were very helpful to us in our
research phase. |
