Weekly status:

Include discussion of what you accomplished this week, who you contacted, what decisions were made, what obstacles were identified, how they are being addressed.

This week completed the third full week we have been working on our Senior Design Project.  This week:

·        We had a meeting with Tureli to (1) discuss our progress on the simulation of Aloha and to ask for some advice and to (2) discuss the requirements of the NYU Proposal.

·        We are still working on the simulation.  It's not as easy as we first thought it would be.  However, in the meantime, we are learning a lot of new things about this particular random access protocol.  Two of us are seeing if we can create the simulation on Matlab, which Prof. Tureli says would be most convenient, and two of us are seeing if we can use C++ to simulate Aloha.  Our project is on schedule, so we don't feel like we are wasting any time.  Through Prof. Tureli's help, we have realized that creating the simulation is one of the most important steps in our project and we shouldn't rush through it.

·        Our major concern for the NYU Proposal was that we knew that we would have to present a financial budget.  However, we felt that we weren't going to have that many expenses, but after our conversation with Prof. Tureli, we realized that any back-up funds would be excellent to have just in-case we have to replace existing hardware.  We may need power supplies, battery packs, etc.  After all, $250 from Stevens is nothing and $1500 would be a great help.

·        We are continuing work on the website, setting it up and beginning to build it.  One of our team members has taken a particular interest in this and she has taken the time out to learn Dreamweaver.

·        This week we also discussed the project proposal, which is due in 3 weeks.  We started laying out the material and assigning tasks, as to who will work on what part.

·        We also completed a work breakdown structure.
