Weekly status:

Include discussion of what you accomplished this week, who you contacted, what decisions were made, what obstacles were identified, how they are being addressed.

This week completed the fifth full week we have been working on our Senior Design Project.  This week:

·        We had our usual group discussion, where we talked especially about our progress, the project proposal, and future steps to be taken in our project.

·        The majority of this week was spent on the project proposal.  We discussed who was tackling which question, who was putting the entire thing together, and when we would meet to do the final touch-ups.

·        We are still working on the simulation.  As mentioned before, we were thinking of trying it in different programs (Matlab, C++, Simulink), but as of now C++ is ruled out.  We figured that the simplest way to write the program would be using Matlab or Simulink; so currently, work is being done on that.

·        We have a Matlab code for Aloha; however, there are some errors we have to figure out and fix, in order for the program to work correctly.

·        The research is never-ending.  After all, a great part of Senior Design VII is to do a great amount of research and fully understand the concepts of the project.  Therefore, each member of the group is constantly researching the topic and subtopics of Aloha to see what new information can be found.

·        Writing the proposal is a good preparation for the DURF (dean's undergraduate research fund) proposal.  After we hand in our proposal this week, the main focus will turn to the DURF proposal and presentation.

·        We have to prepare for a meeting with Prof. Tureli, but we want to wait until we make more progress with our Aloha code.
